BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (October 11, 2018) — Former Southeastern Conference women’s basketball student-athletes Haley Clark and Haley Lorenzen have been invited by the SEC to attend the Women Leaders In Sports National Convention Oct. 14-16 in Atlanta.

Clark, a graduate of the University of Georgia, was voted SEC Women’s Basketball Co-Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2018. Lorenzen, a graduate of the University of Florida, served as Vice Chair of the SEC Women’s Basketball Leadership Council.

The Women Leaders in College Sports National Convention is designed to develop women in their professional journey so they can advance in their career, while connecting them with a community of like-minded women. Among the list of keynote speakers at the convention will be ESPN host and reporter and University of Georgia graduate Maria Taylor, and Auburn University graduate Katrice Albert, who now serves as Executive Vice President of Inclusion and Human Resources at the NCAA.

“These two student leaders have taken a proactive approach to charting their career path to include traveling to Birmingham and meeting with SEC staff to express their interest and commitment to professional development and networking, so they were the perfect candidates to attend this important convention,” said SEC Director of Student-Athlete Engagement Misty Brown.  “We look forward to hearing from them about their experience.”
