Credential Requests for 2014 SEC Symposium Now Being Accepted

The Southeastern Conference is now accepting applications for media credentials to cover the 2014 SEC Symposium, set for September 21-23 at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta. Credential requests will be accepted through August 22.
Designed to address a significant scholarly issue by utilizing the range of disciplinary strengths of the SEC’s 14 member universities, the 2014 SEC Symposium is entitled Prevention of Obesity: Overcoming a 21st Century Public Health Challenge and is led by the University of South Carolina.
The keynote speakers for the 2014 SEC Symposium are Nancy Brown, Chief Executive Officer of the American Heart Association, and Dr. Michael Lauer, Director of the Division of Cardiovascular Sciences at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute. SEC Commissioner Mike Slive and Dr. John E. Hall, 2014 SEC Professor of the Year, along with South Carolina President Dr. Harris Pastides and Provost Dr. Michael Amiridis, also will speak during the Symposium.
Any members of the working media who wish to cover the 2014 SEC Symposium are expected to complete and return a SEC Symposium Media Credential Request Form, which is available on the Symposium’s media page: http://secsymposium.com/media.php, to Sean Cartell at scartell@sec.org.
Approved members of the working media must pick up their credential at the media check-in table, located on the lobby level in the International Tower of the Hyatt Regency Atlanta. (Media will be asked to show a photo ID.)
Media check-in hours are Sunday, September 21 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Monday, September 22 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Tuesday, September 23 from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Approved members of the working media who need hotel accommodations may book reservations at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta at this link:
