SEC communications students will have a unique opportunity to apply the skills they’ve learned in the classroom when ESPNU’s Campus Connection broadcasts four men’s basketball games in 2017. The first broadcast will feature Mississippi State visiting Auburn on Feb. 2.

“ESPNU’s Campus Connection provides students with real-life opportunities at the highest level of broadcast television,” said Charlie Hussey, Associate Commissioner for SEC Network Relations. “We are thankful for ESPN’s commitment to this endeavor for the past eight years.”

Students’ roles vary in the broad scope of producing a live sporting event, including reporter, camera operator and stage manager. Students also have a chance to interact with ESPN professionals.

“Campus Connection gave me an opportunity to learn different methods of broadcast journalism and I was able to learn while working, which is a great feature of any job,” said Emma Fristoe, a former Campus Connection participant from the University of Missouri.
