The fall installment of the SEC College Tour will visit the Pacific Northwest September 24-25. The tour, which focuses on school counselors, will include two events in Seattle and one event in Portland. It will be the SEC’s second trip to the area, the first being in the spring of 2012.

“The SEC College Tour is a vitally important program for our Conference,” said Dr. Torie A. Johnson, SEC Associate Commissioner for Academic Relations. “Our universities are deeply engrained in the southeast region, and at the same time we recognize the ever-increasing national and international appeal of the SEC experience. Therefore, we enthusiastically support our universities in this endeavor.”

During the college tour, senior-level admissions and enrollment professionals from each SEC university will use casual breakfast and lunch meetings to talk with local school counselors about the academic offerings and opportunities available for students at each university. Counselors may also participate in a question and answer session.

This will be the 11th year university leaders have conducted an SEC College Tour outside of the Conference’s geographic footprint, and the upcoming event is being planned by Mississippi State University. Past locations include northern and southern California, Chicago, Boston and Philadelphia.

The SEC College Tour is one of several programs designed by the Southeastern Conference to showcase the range of accomplishments of SEC students, faculty and administrators.
