The 2017 Fall SEC College Tour will return to the Northeast region but will visit three new cities, Sept. 11-13. Destinations include Portland, ME, Boston and Providence, RI. The trip to the region will be the first since spring 2016.
The fall edition of the SEC College Tour provides an opportunity for school counselors in a region outside of the SEC’s geographic footprint to learn more about SEC institutions from admissions administrators representing each conference university. Louisiana State University is the planning institution for the event.
“We are excited to be traveling in the Northeast for this year’s fall tour,” said Seth Schilling, Interim Associate Director of Recruitment at LSU. “SEC universities offer some of the best college experiences in the nation – both in and out of the classroom.”
Each tour stop includes a school counselor breakfast that allows university representatives to provide brief presentations about their institution’s history, admissions standards and student experiences.
“Our goal through these events is to highlight all the great things SEC universities offer and begin building relationships with school counselors as we expand our reach,” said Schilling.
The SEC College Tour is supported by SECU, the academic initiative of the Southeastern Conference. SECU is the primary mechanism through which the SEC showcases the academic endeavors and achievements of its 14 member universities.
