BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southeastern Conference announced on Wednesday its new cohort of SEC Academic Leadership Development Program fellows, with more than 50 early career administrators compromising the 2023-24 class.
The SEC ALDP seeks to identify, prepare and advance academic leaders for roles within SEC institutions and beyond. Ranging in leadership positions and academic interests, the fellows were identified through a competitive campus-level process. The group will participate in two SEC-wide workshops, as the fall event takes place at Texas A&M University and the spring is hosted by the University of Missouri.
The complete list of fellows is below and at the SEC ALDP directory on TheSECU.com.
“The SEC is committed to providing opportunities and resources that help prepare faculty, throughout our Conference, for the next phase of their careers,” said Dr. LeNá Powe McDonald, associate commissioner of academic relations at the SEC. “The program prepares future leaders whose impact on education and the communities they serve will be felt for years to come.
“Our universities make a significant investment in these individuals, and we are proud to work with them through this program.”
Joining the fellows are SEC ALDP liaisons from each campus. These program administrators work with their campus’ chief academic officer to identify participating fellows and collaborate with the other SEC liaison to manage the multi-faceted program. The liaisons oversee the university-level programming designed for its institution’s fellows.
The SEC ALDP was established in 2008, and in that time more than 500 individuals have participated as fellows and/or liaisons.
