BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southeastern Conference College Tour is heading to the Midwest this April with stops in Chicago and Milwaukee. The tour features admissions and enrollment professionals from each SEC university engaging with local students and counselors.

The SEC College Tour is free to attend with registration opening March 7 at SECCollegeTour.org.

The 2024 tour is being organized by the University of Arkansas, and offers an opportunity for representatives from SEC universities to showcase the unique educational experiences on each of their campuses.

“The SEC College Tour is a fun and engaging way for our universities to connect with students and counselors, sharing the exciting programs and opportunities that we offer our students as they prepare to make a difference in their communities, their states, and our world,” said Suzanne McCray, vice provost for enrollment management and dean of admissions at Arkansas.

The event provides students and their guests with an opportunity to interact with representatives from each SEC university and gather information as they begin the college decision process. Each institution will have a selected time slot for individual presentations, while attendees can visit each school’s table for more personalized questions.

School counselors are invited to join SEC officials for two breakfast programs in Chicago. Each university will give an individual presentation covering institutional overviews, academic programs, admissions details, student life and more. Time will be available for one-on-one interactions with SEC representatives.

The college fairs will take place on the following dates from 6-8 p.m. CT:

  • April 15: Naperville, Illinois
  • April 16: Northbrook, Illinois
  • April 17: Milwaukee, Wisconsin

The counselors’ program will take place on the following dates from 8-10:30 a.m. CT:

  • April 16: Naperville, Illinois
  • April 17: Northbrook, Illinois

Counselors are also encouraged to attend the Milwaukee college fair.

Now in its 15th year, the SEC College Tour aims to enhance the academic reputation of SEC universities through outreach events, including virtual opportunities, beyond the Conference’s geographic footprint. It is one of several programs designed by the Conference to highlight its member universities.
