SEC Engineering Students To Study In Italy

Fayetteville, AR – University of Arkansas Chancellor G. David Gearhart signed a joint international student exchange agreement on Friday, February 12, 2010.
The agreement is part of a Southeastern Conference Academic Consortium (SECAC) collaborative initiative among SEC engineering schools. It will allow mechanical engineering students at participating SEC universities to study at Politecnico di Torino (PdT), in Turin, Italy, and PdT students to study at an SEC university, each for one semester.
“The U of A is only the first to sign. We expect Mississippi State and Vanderbilt to sign next week. We also anticipate participation from Alabama, Tennessee, and LSU,” said Dr. Julie Goldman, Director of SECAC.
Representatives and faculty from SECAC, PdT, the University of Arkansas (UA), UA’s College of Engineering, the Office of Study Abroad, and Mississippi State University were on hand, for the signing.
