SEC Outdoor T&F Scholar-Athletes Named

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Florida’s Talitha Diggs, Georgia’s Matthew Boling and Arkansas’ Ayden Owens-Delerme have been named the SEC Outdoor Track and Field Scholar-Athletes of the Year by a vote of the league head coaches.

Diggs holds a 3.68 grade point average, and she is a junior with a double major in political science and international studies with a concentration in Asia. She was named a 2021 and 2022 All-Academic honoree, and she was a member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll.

A native of Saucon Valley, Pa., Diggs is ranked fifth nationally in the 100m with a time of 10.96 at the Tom Jones Memorial, and she is No. 8 in the 200m with a time of 22.61 at the Pepsi Florida Relays. Diggs is also a member of the Florida 4×100 relay that is ranked No. 6 in the NCAA (43.23). Boling has a 3.40 grade point average, and he is a senior majoring in business administration. He was a 2021 CoSIDA Academic Third-Team All-American and was voted CoSIDA Academic All-District in 2022. Boling garnered SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors in men’s indoor track and field in 2021 and 2023 and in men’s outdoor track and field in 2022.

A native of Houston, Texas, Boling was part of the No. 2 all-time collegiate performer in the 4x400m relay after the Bulldog contingent clocked a school record 2:58.82 to win the Texas Relays earlier this year. He also ran a leg on the 4x200m relay that earned the spot as the No. 3 all-time collegiate performer with a school record 1:20.22.

Owens-Delerme holds a 3.476 grade point average, and he is pursuing an MBA. The 2022 Bowerman Finalist was also named an All-Academic honoree by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., Owens-Delerme achieved a career-best 153-0 (46.64) in the discus at the John McDonnell Invitational earlier this season and a career-best time of 20.88 in the 200m. He also made his collegiate debut in the 400m hurdles and was runner-up with a time of 50.28, equal No. 6 on the Arkansas all-time list.

The SEC Outdoor Track and Field Championships will take place Thursday-Saturday in Baton Rouge, La.
