Three northern California cities are slated to host the 2018 Spring SEC College Tour, which returns to the Bay Area for the second time in four years. Admissions and enrollment professionals from each SEC university will conduct events in Sacramento, Walnut Creek and Palo Alto, April 17-20.

In its tenth year, the SEC College Tour provides an opportunity for local high school students and counselors in a region outside of the SEC’s geographic footprint to learn about SEC institutions from campus experts. The University of Missouri is the planning institution for this spring’s event.

“The SEC College Tour is a unique opportunity to expose families and counselors from around the country to the academics and research an SEC university is able to provide and to learn what makes our universities special among many college options,” said Missouri Executive Director of Admissions, Chuck May. “In addition, this event helps elevate our collective academic profile in markets outside of our traditional areas.”

Each SEC College Tour stop includes two events. A fair is held in the evenings for high students and their parents, and they feature short presentations and question and answer sessions with each SEC university. The next morning, SEC representatives share additional information and admissions details to local school counselors during a breakfast meeting.

“Those four days will be packed with activity for everyone involved, but it is worth the effort because they give us a platform to share the many opportunities and diverse options available to students on our campuses,” said May.

The SEC College Tour is one of several programs designed by the Southeastern Conference to showcase the range of accomplishments of SEC students, faculty and administrators. Below are dates and locations for the 2018 Spring SEC College Tour. And, for more information or to register, visit
